Add a Class

Add A Class in Texas State Self Service

You may add a class either by searching for the class or by directly typing in the CRN (Course Registration Number).

1) Log in to Texas State Self-Service

To add a class, a student must first log in to Texas State Self-Service. Click on the "Student" link from the Main Menu.

Click on the "Registration" link in the Student menu.

3) Registration Term

You must select a term. To do so, click on the dropdown located below  "Search by Term" and then click the "Submit" button.

Note: If you had previously selected a term from the Registration menu you will not see this screen. To chose another term you would need to go back to the Registration menu and click the "Select Term" link.

4) Add or Drop Classes

Under the Registration menu click on the "Add or Drop Classes" link.

5) Search for a Class Within Your Current Schedule

To search for a class, look to the bottom of the page and select the "Class Search" button.

6) Search Subject & Course

Under the Look Up Classes menu, scroll through the subject selection until you find your desired subject. Click on the subject and then select the "Course Search" button.

7) Search for Sections to View

Under the Look Up Classes menu select the "View Sections" button. This will display all sections offered for the class.

8) Register for Selected Class

Click on the box next to your preferred section.  Select the "Register" button to register for the class.

You may also select the "Add to WorkSheet" button.  This will add the class to your worksheet while you continue to look for additional classes.

1) Add a Class by CRN in Texas State Self Service

To add a class by the CRN (Course Registration Number), a student must first log in to Texas State Self-Service. Click on the Student tab and then the "Registration" link.

Click on the "Add or Drop Classes" link to access your current schedule.

3) Add Class by CRN

Look for "Add Classes Worksheet" found at the bottom of the page. Type the CRN(s) for the class or classes you wish to add.

Click "Submit Changes"

4) View Schedule

Your newly added class or classes should appear on your current schedule.

Add A Class in Bobcat Schedule Builder

Once you have registered, you may add a course to your current registration by searching for a class,or by typing in the CRN (Course Registration Number).

1) Log in to Texas State Self-Service

To add a class via Bobcat Schedule Builder, a student must first log in to Texas State Self-Service. Click on the "Student" link from the Main Menu.

Click on the "Registration" link in the Student menu.

3) Select Bobcat Schedule Builder

Click on "Bobcat Schedule Builder" link to be taken to the Bobcat Scheduling & Registration site.

4) Log into Bobcat Schedule Builder (Bobcat Scheduling & Registration)

Select and save your Term, Campus, Part of Term and Course Status selections.

You are now ready to add a course.  Click the "Add Course" button.

5) Add Course

You have several search options at your disposal.  Once you have selected the desired class. Click the "Add Course" button which will display the course on the right side of the page as "Desired Courses".

6) Generate a Schedule

On the Plan Schedule Page, under "Courses" you will see the course you added.

Click on the box next to the course and then click on "Generate Schedules.

Select "View" to see this potential schedule.

7) View Potential Schedule and Send to Shopping Cart

After selecting view, a new page will be displayed that shows how this new desired course will fit in with your current schedule.

You still aren't registered, so be sure to click on "Send to Shopping Cart".

8) From Shopping Cart to Registration

You should now see the course in your shopping cart.

To continue, click on the "Register" button. An acknowledgment message will pop up providing important information to review. When done, select "Agree" to continue.

9) Confirm your intent to Register

You will be greeted with a pop up asking you to confirm that you are ready to register.
Select "Continue"

10) Registration is Complete

Once the system is done processing your request, you will receive a pop up message confirming your registration.
Click 'OK'

If your registration attempt is unsuccessful, review the message provided to determine how to proceed.

11) View Current Schedule

If the class was successfully added, you will see it reflected when viewing your current schedule.
